Hello, everyone...

For April, Chris and i will be leading Titus Canyon & Death Valley. This is a very scenic run and one of our favorites and we usually do it in April, before it gets too hot :( . Titus Canyon is just outside of Beatty, which is approximately two hours North of Las Vegas on Hwy 95. Difficulty factor is low, usually about 1.5 at the most, depending on recent weather. If there has been a lot of rain, it tends to flood and is closed until it can be cleared. I have checked and it is currently open. Titus Canyon is one way only, is approximately 26 miles long and starts in Nevada and ends in Death Valley, California. Since it is a long drive to Beatty, there are places to stay or camp, if you want to stay over. The Ghost Town of Rhyolite is close by if you feel adventurous :shock:.

Directions: Take Hwy 95 North approximately two hours to Beatty. In Beatty, stay on 95 until you come to a "Tee", then turn right and remain on 95. We will meet in the empty lot on the right, across from the Eddie World gas station and Stagecoach Hotel at 9:30 and leave at 10:00. If anyone has any questions, please ask. FYI: I will be running both a CB radio and a GMRS radio in my Jeep, for anyone who has maybe purchased a GMRS radio and wants to try it out. Hope to see you there.

I recently came across a posting saying the GMRS license fee is officially changing to $35 on April 19, 2022. https://www.buytwowayradios.com/blog/20 ... 7BN7Rz3qhQ
We will see...

To all interested, FYI...

I have also heard that the fee for the GMRS license is being reduced to $35.00. I even have the FCC website in my favorites on my laptop. The online application says the fee is $35, but when you complete the form and prepare to pay, it says "total fees": $70.00 :roll: . A couple of months ago, I called and spoke to a gentleman in the licensing dept at the FCC. I told him the GMRS app says $35.00, but later $70.00. He told me that the fee would be coming down to $35.00, but they just hadn't changed it yet. He also said he had no idea when the fee would actually be lowered. So it's true, the GMRS license fee will be going down to $35.00, but nobody knows when.
So I keep checking...

I should be there. Love this run!
Also I'll be camping at the Beatty RV Park 3 miles North of town Thursday thru Sunday if anyone wants to visit and sit by the evening camp fire!

I have some pictures, just no Trail Boss Report....

Anyone that was on the trail, can send me something...

Would like the report to have:

* How was the Trail?
* See any wildlife? If so, what did you see?
* How would you rate this Trail?

Can be emailed to me: secureirc@gmail.com
