Thanks, Jack, for the great run today!

BTW, I looked up Western Yellow Pine and Ponderosa Pine. No wonder we were puzzled; they're just two names for the same tree. :-)

Great run and many miles! It was very educational as I saw my first PyroCumulous Cloud! It was from the inferno at Brian Head Utah! Thanks Jack and my friend got a picture of Jim March smelling the tree! LOL

I wonder how many tree-snorting pictures will be on Facebook soon? That was fun, and we did look amusing, all of us standing around sniffing the tree trunks!

Thanks for the positive comments on the geology info! Pyrocumulus clouds are (thankfully) rare; that's only the fourth one I've seen. My first, in the Denver area a few years ago, was huge. I'd been travelling for some days, and was unaware of the extent of the fire. It was a pyrocumulonimbus, with lightning and an anvil top.

The pictures I took are on the Nevada Backroaders Facebook page. I no longer have a photo hosting account so I'm unable to post them here. Chris.

www.photobucket.com you are limited to how many GB you get for FREE (25GB storage) but my camera is set at an extremely large setting of 4128x3096 [4:3], I have well over 1500 pics and my 1 account is only recently bumped 41% and although there's limits to the account itself; NO LIMIT on free accounts ;)

Heck they even offer a printing service should you want things printed up on larger paper, t-Shirts, mugs.. etc

just for thoughts.

On another note pics look great so far..! Ive got some of Redrock I should post up that were really good pics.
