Meet at 8:00, roll at 8:30.

I'm changing the meeting place: we'll meet at the turnoff to Nelson on I-95.

There are some sections of the trail leading up to Highland Spring which will almost certainly result in desert pin striping - so be warned. In addition, the last part of this trail probably rates a 3, which puts it beyond a club run. This section will be strictly voluntary.

The rest of the trip is fine, and very scenic.

This will be an all-day affair. There is the possibility of dinner in Searchlight. The Nugget Casino has good food, and (as we discovered today) very inexpensive beer.

Here is the rest of the description, which is unchanged from my earlier posting:

We'll be driving up the powerline road that runs between the Highland Mountains and the McCullough mountains, with side trips to four springs: McCullough Spring, Ora Hanna Spring, Highland Spring, and Pine Spring. All of these should have actual, honest-to-goodness water in them. All of them also have corrals - Highland and Ora Hanna are abandoned, while McCullough and Pine are still in operation.

We'll eventually end up in Searchlight.

We would love to go but we are committed to something else on the 28th.

If you do a pre-run let me know depending on when I may be up for it.

Count me in. I should have my WJ lifted and sliders on it by then. Probably new tires, too.

Oops, sorry! It has already been pre-run.... pre-ran?

But, if folks like it, we'll certainly run it again in the future.

I will definitely be there, could always use a little pin stripping.

Would the last part of this trail (probably rated as a 3) be the same as the back side of Wheelers Pass we did over the summer?

Nope. That's over in Pahrump. This is near Searchlight. Other side of town - closer to Hendertucky. There is a small optional section that probably rates a 3. The rest of the trail rates only 1-2. Nice and mild. But very scenic.

I know this is a different trail, I am just trying to relate the last part of this up coming outing that you rated as a three to something we have done before.

When we got to the top of Wheeler a few months ago, the official club run ended because the rest of the trail towards Indian Springs was rated too high for a club run. It became a 'fun run' and I think we all competed the run down wheeler.

Thanks dawn. :-)
