We will be back at the Pro Gun Club on Saturday, Feburary 7th. We will be there at 9:00. Come on out and have some fun. :D If anyone has questions, or needs directions, let know. I hope to see you there.

I probably will be there. Did I hear no long guns for now?

I'd like to do some skeet shooting with my 20 gauge. Anyone else interested?

Walt... I called the PGC and was told the pistol ranges are open, but only about 3 of the longer ranges are. The regular rifle ranges are open along with the various shotgun ranges. If you want to come on out and bring your bushmaster that's fine, I'll try and get one of the longer ranges or "bay's". They also said this may be a permanent set up with fewer bay's. Hope to see you there.

I plan on being there, and would like to shoot the Bushmaster if possible. See you then, anyway.

Plan on bringing the arsenal. Have a day to recover before work. Handguns only. Leaving shotgun at home for cats to use in case of daylight home invasion. One never knows, does one.

Some of you may have heard through the grapevine that I have a new friend, by the name of Mr. Glock 42. He'll be accompanying me tomorrow. :)

I need help breaking my new friend in. Because I've got wonky hands (missing joints, weak muscles), I don't hold a gun 'normally'. I'm working on my grip, and once Mr. Glock is broken in a bit more, this won't be a problem. But for the moment, he's being rather persnickety with me. Lots of jamming (like, almost every shot!). He's not jamming so much with other folks.

So, gosh darn, if any of you would LIKE to try out my new friend, I will be very happy to oblige. I know, I know, this is a real pain, and I am asking a lot of you all.....

Dawn, the 42 is a great little piece. Shirley loves hers and I also have one. This firearm does require a firmer grip to prevent problems like you are having. In fact, I just read an article about this same issue. https://www.usconcealedcarry.com/glock-42-380-great-concealment-pistol-keep-firm-grip/?utm_source=SilverpopMailing&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=CCR%2002-06-2015%20-%20Subs%20(1)&utm_content=&spMailingID=10583115&spUserID=NDU3MTU2NTQzOTcS1&spJobID=480483090&spReportId=NDgwNDgzMDkwS0

Shirley occasionally has the same problem, but only in colder weather while wearing gloves.

It could also be the ammo that you use. I know when we got ours, they were a little temperamental. Also if it did not get properly cleaned to get all the shipping grease and oil out, it makes a big difference. I'm sure that someone will be able to help you tomorrow.

If all of the above don't fully cure the trouble then try out some smaller caliber revolvers 9mm or .38. They don't jam and could care less about what ammo you use. You don't want a gun jamming ever for self defense. I have a butt load of semi-autos ( ask Gary) and have been carrying since Ralph Lamb was sheriff but the only gun That I ever carry is a Smith and Wesson air weight .38 spl. Revolver. That's my own opinion but I know this gun will shoot every time I pull the trigger and Im very accurate with it. If I think I need more than 5 rounds with me I'll I'll throw a strip clip with another 5 in my pocket. It's important you get a gun that works right for you every time.

That's very true Steve, if kept clean revolvers don't jam. You can look at it like this... it's like the difference between a corvette and a pinto. Both will do the same job, but a semi auto has more bells & whistles and a rvolver is simple to operate and just works. :D

All good advice, thanks!

I tried several different guns, and the 'broken in' 42 worked just great, so I'm not worried yet about mine.

I have a revolver too, specifically because it's foolproof. But, it's a hand-mangler if you shoot it too much (Ruger LCR 38 special). I wanted something easier on the hands to practice with. (As if an excuse to get a cool new gun is necessary) :D
