I like that statement. Works just fine for me, myself and I. The rest of you can spend your hard earned dollars on anything you please. It's a free country and your money and your hobby. And have fun! That's what it's all about, folks. |

Anybody have any luck with those stake-hole antenna mounts? Used to use a GeoTool, but he is months behind in shipping and his Web site is all but shut down, not taking orders. IMHO the Better, but very pricey ($80 with shipping). A great alternative is: HANK BREEDLOVE MACHINE SHOP http://members.fortunecity.com/breedlov ... page2.html About halfway down that page there are two models, each around $40 before Shipping. |

Also, Sauder has a few, depending upon the type antenna base you require. Here's a link to their on-line catalog: http://www.sauderelectronics.com/Mounts_c5.htm |

Any places in Vegas that might carry the Firestick antennas and mounts? Looking to get the Mk-204R door jamb mount and 4' antenna. Got my HAM gear from AES but I don't think they carry much CB related stuff, but will call and check. ** EDIT ** Looks like Radio Shack carries a 4' adjustable similar antenna 21-974, so I just need to find a suitable mount and spring now. |

i beleave the petro also has firestik antennas. fwiw, i've run one of the radio-shock clones and just ended up buying a firestik to repace it with. there is a place, radioworld?, in boulder city that may have what you're looking for. worth a try. |

I ended up with one of the Radio Shack ones for now and painted it black. Todd |

FYI - just bought another of these for truck. It includes an antenna. If you pick it up at store like I did you save an additional $3.92 so it's under $34, not too bad. Added a $2.37 12v plug. Tested it and it work fine. This is actually our second of this model, now one in JKU and one in the truck. Undrstm8ed wrote: So did you purchase it because of brand? Size? kit form? or cost factors? . . . Performance tested and the modest cost. The first Uniden 505 I bought 3, maybe 4 years back. It has worked well and I have had no issues. I have had issues with the one I use in the truck, it is older, many more knobs, the range seems to be more modest so I just decided for the price I would get another new Uniden 505 and put the old one under the truck seat as a backup radio, just in case. I really like having a CB on the trail. |

Have a Midland hand held. Second one I've had. first on got doused with coffee, not good. I have used a magnetic mount antenna which must be put on the front hood as the JKU top is plastic and my rack is aluminum. Probably going to a rack mount antenna system similar to my Ham antenna. Get decent range now, however, the front mount sometimes hinders reception. |
