I have never owned a CB before and have read up on them some. I installed a new CB and Firestick antenna last weekend hoping to have it all set for the run on the 17th. With my VERY limited knowledge I feel that I am a danger to myself and the CB. I know I need to have the antenna tuned but I thought that was only for transmitting. When I scan the channels driving down I-15 I can only sometimes pick up a few words but the weather channels come in very clear. I did ground the antenna mount to the frame. Could the problem be tuning or should I start taking things apart again?

Bring it with you to the May run, at least one of us will check it out for you.

Thanks, I will. I hope it is something simple that doesn't need any extra parts to make it work.
