The Pre-Run went well. There was a lot of great scenery and the sandstone boulders were amazing; absolutely stunning. HOWEVER, there’s about a 1 mile section of the trail that is NOT club friendly and there are no “go-arounds” or “Alternate routes”. Tapper (blue Colorado) and Dusty (white H2) along with Dan, TK and I required a lot of spotting; it took us almost an hour to get thru it. Dusty and Tapper lightly scraped their skid plates, no damage. There were also some tight areas with tight turns that Tapper barely made it around. Any vehicle driving this trail would definitely require some height, short wheel base and probably 33’s. We all agreed any stock vehicle or long wheel base would have issues. With that said this particular trail is out but I have saved it for a “fun run”, go at your own risk. The black circle on the map is the area of concern.
I have an idea for another run. I was thinking either Delamar or War Shield Canyon. If you have another suggestion that would be great as well. I would prefer to know by Thursday 11 Jan so I can pre-run on 12 jan.

The official club run will be 26 Jan for sure.

Yeah Roy sorry I couldn't make it. You were in Area 52: a Total Carnage run. I ran it with Darrell Wade leading few years ago on New Years Day. He spotted us few on a few spots but we all did fine.

Looks like it was fun anyway. I'm sure my big ole yellow Ram would not make it! I already did some serious scraping to the lower rocker panel below my passenger side door due to a v.e.r.y. tight squeeze fairly recently! Don't want to add to it!

What about down to the area around Nelson and the eldorado mine & ghost town tour?

Anyone interested in seeing the "highlights" of that 1 mile section here is the link. https://youtu.be/CMV9mlHXS78

Hi Roy.
If you check my Facebook cover picture, that was the trail I tore out my actuator for front lockers.
Great trail day.
Darrel Wade spotted us. Area 52 is a trail that is challenging but do-able with spotting.

Beth, It was a great trail, we had lots of fun. I will definitely do it again as a "Fun Run at your own risk". instead of coming out at Alamo, we took the left and went to the delamar dry lake Bed, down the power line road back to 93.
