So I somehow talked my self into leading the Club Run (actually I LOVE doing it) for January. A few of us went north to Mt Irish and figured out that it will make a GREAT club run! Mines, ghost town, petroglyphs, great scenery and the like. Rated no more than a "2". Most of it can be done in 2 wheel drive. Plenty of dust and some desert pin striping, but over all a pretty easy run.
1/27/18 (I know: I'm off a Saturday. Pretty cool, huh) Meet at the gas staion in Ash Spirngs (10 miles north of Alamo) at 0830. Leave at 0900. Takes about 2 hours from Vegas, so plan accordingly. Some will stay in Alamo for the night, before and after(me included). Alamo Inn and Sunset Inn are dirt cheap, clean and nice. Windmill Ridge is about $100.00 a night but VERY nice. Picketts RV park is in Alamo. People are very nice and it's a nice campground. All day event so plan for it. Hope to see you there. I rarely do this, but I guarentee you'll like this run. I really hope to see you there. It wil be a lot of fun.

!/27/18 meet at 0830. Leave at 0900. Ash Springs, Nevada at the gas station. 10 miles North of Alamo.

What are the names of the dirt roads we will be traveling on? On google earth I see Cold Spring Rd and Irish Mtn Rd. I'm just trying to figure out an area to download for "Back country Navigator" One last question; which highway will we be leaving the pavement 318 or 375? Thanks I appreciate any info.

Roy... unfortunately, I can't recall the trail names, I wasn't leading the run. I do know that we took Hwy 93 North, then Hwy 318 for a couple of miles and turned left on to the dirt. We actually made a large loop and eventually came back out on the Extraterrestrial Hwy, 373. Then back to Hwy 318, then 93 and back to Las Vegas. I hope that helps you with the area to download.

Roy i think I can help you: The main roads will be Logan Canyon Rd, Irish Mountain Rd, and Cold Spring Rd. I still haven't decided which direction I'll start from LOL. Hope to see you there!

Thanks Tom and John. Hopefully we can enter from Highway 318 and exit on Highway 375. The reason I ask is;depending on the amount of day light left I'm considering driving to the "back gate" of Area 51. The road there is 15 miles from our exit Trail, then 9 miles to the gate, so roughly an extra 50 miles round trip. I missed the road the last time I was up there. But this would be after the "official trail run". will also stop at the infamous black mail box along 375.

We would drive by the black mail box anyway, but I believe it is no longer there. I don't mind going in from the East, so that's what we can do!

How much pin striping are we talking about? Is it avoidable? Just bought a new truck and would like to join, however I’m not excited about pin stripes just yet. Thanks for any info.
