OK... We'll be doing Bitter Springs on 24 Feb 2018 . Meet at the Moapa truck stop, at exit 75 on I-15, North of Las Vegas. Meet at 8:30 and roll at 9:00. If anyone has any questions or needs directions, let me know. Hope to see you there.

there are some petroglyphs, an old dam, rabbit rock, and an in-ground Borax dwelling.

here's link to see what its like:

The pre-run went well. I would rate the trail 1.5 because of the area in the beginning is a little rocky but ok; you'll have to go slow thru it. I explored other trail areas out there and they really lead nowhere so we wont bother with them. if we get to the top of the hill where we normally eat lunch and its to early, I found another spot in a wash that's provides plenty of parking and shade if required. The road leading to the borax(?) dwellings is fine so we'll be able to see those as well. Hope to see you'll there on 24 Feb 2018, oh yea the gas prices at Moapa are not any different from Vegas in fact they may be a few cents cheaper.

Will the outing end at Northshore Dr or will the group double back to I-15? Doesn't matter to me as I have a National Park Pass to traverse Northshore Dr in the LMNRA. Looking forward to this trail.

The trail ends at the bridge on North shore Dr. Some folks talk about going to an ice cream shop at Overton and back down I-15 from there, others just usually head back down North shore Rd to Lake mead Blvd and back to Vegas. Hope this helps.

I would like to take this time to thank Roy Myers and the Nevada Backroaders for a great run to Bitter Springs yesterday! I don't know how Roy managed it but the Flyover by the two helicopters out in the middle of nowhere, Nevada was the icing on the cake! I'd also like to thank all of the people who I've met off-roading with this group and the lasting friendships I have made while a member! A big salute to you all and I will always remember having a great time exploring the old mines, ranches, and natural beauty of the great state of Nevada with you! Hope to make it one more trip before whatever! Peace and Jeep safe my friends! 8)

Thanks Tom! I think I'll be able to make one more trip with the club! I would love to lead the Logandale run before I depart! If nobody has any other runs, I'll step up and lead the March run!
