Wow, that was a fast response. I'm looking for specifically National Geographic Topo. Do you have it?

A friend of mine, who lives in Reno, and who drives a modified 2-door '07 JK Wrangler Rubicon, runs a Samsung tablet PC running Nat Geo on the go.

I cannot find a reference to "National Geographic topo on the go" anywhere on the web. Can you ask your friend for a URL to that software please?

Sorry for the old thread ressurection:

I think what David was implying was that he uses it on the trail on his UMPC. NatGeo made a Windows Mobile program called pocket topo which allowed you to view the Topo! maps on a Windows Mobile PDA/phone.

Also, for oodles of unlimited map goodness, try UNR's Keck Library map downloads page ( http://keck.library.unr.edu/ ). All the USGS topos in all sizes (1:24k, 1:62.5k, 1:100k, 1:250k) for all the state and maps that connect to adjoining states, NDOT road atlas (very handy!, also avalible in book form from NDOT), mining maps, historical maps, and all kinds of other fun stuff. It comes in .tiff files compressed in .zip. Can be ran on pretty much any computer and also used on some gps units (not sure which ones, though).
