if daimler cuts chrysler loose then maybe chrysler will cut jeep loose. then maybe they'll go back to building real offroad vehicles and not mall-crawlers. JMHO |

Unfortunately, I think we'll never really see the return of mass show room floor trail competent 4X's like we had in the past. At least any that the average person can afford. Not taking anything away from the stock Rubicon guys, but it's sad that a vehicle comparable to the base units of 20 years ago are now an "upgrade". Daimler is just finally getting around to having the same issues the other Big 2 are having. Insane gas prices are pushing people back to economical high mileage cars, something the Big 3 can't seem to grasp in creating. Add to high costs to manufacture a US car to the new car price, and it's no wonder everyone is going to Toyota, Nissan, etc. Until the Big 3 get with the program, their outlook is very bleak. |
