I wouldn't be concerned about all the blowing up and missle talk. I've had my set up for years and run it constantly in 110 degree heat of Moab with the top off and never ever had any issue of building up to much gas. That's why they are only filled to a certain level to compensate for such things. If the blow off valve goes "pop" it's not like a 44 mag round coming at you either. Never personally witnessed one blowing off but have seen the safety films. As for the tank blowing that is why they are required to pressue test them once every 5 years. Crap one of my tanks is over 50 years old! Don't worry about it and go wheeling.

Not sure what safety's are on the industrial tanks, but the smaller paintball valves have a copper rupture disk on the side of the valve. If somehow you knock the valve off there is a hazzard but very little hazzard with the disk releasing. I was holding one when it popped. Startling and gets a little cold but thats all. Piantball is the most torturous user of these and stories of tank accidents are rare yet disk replacements are common.

I have been told by many people that CO2 will dry out your tires, and cause them to rot faster, if your looking for High pressure set up i would recommend getting a 60 cu. ft. nitrogen bottle. There is an aluminum and steel. most places don't charge that much to recharge the bottle. On my set up i got a aluminum bottle(60 cu.ft. cylinder for $135, a regulator from harbor freight for $35 and hose for $2). Refills are only $13 in my area. I have gotten 5-6 complete rig tire(285/70-17) refills to 45psi with a 2000psi. bottle. Nitrogen is the best gas to use in your tires. It doesn't hardly expand under extreme heat. Plus you can leave your fully charged bottle in the hottest sun all day and don't have to worry about it popping off inside your rig. Nitrogen is what they use in all aircraft tires.

I prefer to use a mixture of 72% nitrogen, 17% oxygen and some miscellaneous other gases to make up the last 1%. It's a LOT easier to find in large quantities, and the price is extremely reasonable. :P
