Due to the dangers to small wildlife hollow mine markers have been outlawed.

NRS 517.030 Prohibits the use of hollow plastic mine claim markers, and provides authority to the general public to knock down any hollow mine markers on federal lands in Nevada.
NDOW asks that any recreationalists or hunters please knock down these pipes if you come across them or send their gps coords to christy@ndow.org as there may still be 100,000s of them still out there and we are most likely to come across them.

The 3 inch pvc pipes perforated or solid with open tops. Knock the pipe over and leave it in place.

If it is solid/non perforated and the top is securely capped it is a legal marker.

Uncapped metal pipe markers should be reported.
