Friend has a 2007 JK and the Hot Oil light came on. Dealer told her it wasn't a problem and to just stop and let it cool down. The outside temp wasn't over 90 and wasn't being abused just taking the road over the mountain here. I know the Tranny cooler is integrated and small but still wouldn't think it should overheat. It has happened a couple of times and I suggested to install a bigger Tranny cooler.

Anybody seen this before?

yeah, hot oil light is for tranny, this is Jeeps way of covering their butt. If the light came on while wheeling need to change habits. Run in lo range and in drive as much as possible, as torque convertor locks up in drive {3rd} if 1st or 2nd is needed use it but try to run in 3rd. If lite comes on while on hiway or in town turn off o/d. sometimes forgotten check oil level if low will heat up faster. Summit racing carries a good cooler by B and M for around 75 dollars and seems to be the total fix
