Some of the longtime members may remember Uncle Buck & Wendy. I received an email from Wendy this morning.

Quote:
Bad News: Buck suffered a heart attack Sunday afternoon around 4pm. I performed CPR until EMS arrived. They intubated him on the ride to the ER. They transported him to another hospital after stabilizing him to a certain extent looking to perform a cath on him. Decided not to. He's now in ICU at St Rose Dominican Hospital Siena Campus in Henderson, NV. Vitals are some what decent, he has bad kidney function, a respirator is breathing for him, and they presently have him in an induced coma for the next 24 hrs pushing meds, etc. They will slowly bring him back around, depending on how he's doing and how they interpret his statement of desires for health care in his current situation. I have general power of attorney and health care power of attorney. I'm not ready to give up on him!!! He's only 61 and we hope to spend at least the next 10 years together, it's too soon to go!!!
I'm needless to say a total nervous wreck, and scared to death for him and me. Please say some prayers for him!!
He's my one and only love and I don't know how I'd survive without him.
Pray hard and long and frequently!!!
Wendy

The last time I saw them was on Rex's Tabletop Mtn run, when Wendy fell and broke her wrist. Our thoughts and prayers are with Buck & Wendy in their time of need.

Buck still hasn't regained brain function. Everything else with his body seems to now be in good working order. Not looking too good at the moment, but I'm still praying.
Thanks for all your wishes of a good recovery.
I'll keep you updated as time goes by.

I received this from Wendy.

Quote:
The ventilator was removed at 4pm & he passed @ 4:30pm.
He had major brain damage & would have been a vegetable if the heart had kept on beating.
I'm going to be so lost without the love of my life now. Nothing but good memories & great times
together. I'm glad we had the last 11 years together to find real & enduring true love.
Thanks for all of your prayers for both of us.
Wendy

We are so sorry to hear about Buck. He was always a character whether on the trail or here on the Message Board. He will be missed.

Thank you all for your kind wishes and prayers.
My soulmate will be greatly missed.
I may need some help in selling his '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 soon.
I hope I can rely on some of your assistance in doing so.

A "Wendy" update: Moved to Bradenton, FL in Sept. 2011.

My brother lives here & purchased a condo for me to live in.
I sold Buck's Jeep for way less than he would have wanted, but I had a deadline to move with my neighbor's help, so it couldn't be avoided.

I miss the Nevada mountains, desert & low humidity, BUT miss Buck the most.

I thank everyone for your thoughts and for the comradery afforded to both Buck & I on our trail rides.

Dusty trails to you......Wendy
