This looks a lot like the dry lake bed on Alamo road, doesn't it? I suppose this is probably why the road is closed through there, do you think?

Looks staged, so I'd say Roach dry lake, which is the one by Jean. It and the one at Primm (Ivanpah) are used for movie and photo shoots constantly. The road in the upper right looks like the one the gravel pit trucks use south of the lake bed. IIRC it's Sierra Redimix's pit.

But as anyone that has ever attempted to cross a wet (dry) lake bed would know, that could pretty much happen on any of our dry lake bed after a minimal rain storm around here.
