just a little info for every one. I was looking over my cherokee getting it ready to take it down for a smog check. I had one side leaf spring fanning out so I pulled my wheel off to inspeced it knocked it back into place and retorqued it. the u clamp bolt nuts where so lose I could move them with my fingers. after I torqued that side I told my self I better check the other side and it was a good thing too cuz it was lose also. I bought this jeep 1 year ago and I dont drive it alot but it is getting used more and more to pick up my kids and thigs like that. So if its been a while since you put a wrench on your running gear you mite want to check it out. On a good note my jeep passed better this year then when I first did it. :D

Good point to bring up Desertrat71. A few months ago I was working on my friends XJ and when I'm under a Jeep (especially one that has been lifted), I look around and check things out. I found his U-bolts were loose on his leaf springs, just like yours...just hand tight on some and really loose on others. I told him he needed to get under his Jeep more often. I'm usually under my TJ before going out on a long weekend run like the one coming up this weekend to Death Valley. It's better to be safe than sorry.
