Question for anyone this is about going doorless on the jeep not drawerless on your body.

So I was thinking of taking off my doors and running with my hardtop for a different look and feel. I know I have to purchase some new mirror mounts and etc..

My main question does anyone know if a nevada law does not allow jeeps to run doorless.

thanks-Kelly

i've run doorless numerous times and have had no problem with law enforcement. make sure you have a mirror on at least the drivers side and you'll be good to go. but it did take a little getting used to the road rushing by on the freeway with no doors  so make sure your seatbelts are tight :D
you may find an issue if you had a young child strapped in on the passenger side with no door, some people may frown on it and say you are endangering the child.

A buddy of mine has a Wrangler TJ softop and runs doorless all summer long. Leaves his top on, but removes the sides, back and doors. He doesn't run with the side mirrors (I guess they come off with the doors) and we've run I-80 numerous times after hunting and exploration trips; he runs the local paved roads around Winnemucca and he's yet to be pulled over for no mirrors other than the windshield mount rearview.

As stated, it is quite an experience to see the roadway fly by. Sort of like going back to my motorcycle riding days.

I'd think in a hard top you'd get some major buffeting unless you have an escape route for the air coming in through the door openings. Since my buddy's sides and rear is off, the wind passes through, but you still get quite a wind at 75-80 on the Interstate.

For what it's worth, there are several options for relocating the mirrors. I got a set from 4 wheel parts, but quadratec, JC whitney, and others all have their options. I did invest in a set of Rock Doors, which at least gave me "doors" if the local cops want to quibble. They are little more than a bent tube, and now, with the welder and a buddy with a tubing bender, I probably could have done it myself for a lot less. But, them's the lessons you learn with a Jeep.

I have some Sun Performance mirror relocators, puts them up on the windshield frame, lower mount.

fairly easy, but you gotta be careful when removing the factory mirror.

Also if you do put it on the passenger side, you won't be able to see out that mirror when you have the doors on. or at least have a very limited look.

Famgeo, thanks for the offer I don't know if the unlimited fits an 04. Right now I am thinking of the mirror setup
that uses the upper door hinge, that way I dont have to mess with the windshield brackets.

I will let you know.

Running without the doors in a Jeep is awsome! It does take some getting used to but you'll have your leg hanging out on the Rock Slider in no time!I do have 2 new pairs of JK Mirror relocaters in the garage from Rugged Ridge available..
