Hey all,

Sold my 99 WJ and bought an 07 JK tonight. We're pretty excited about it and can't wait to get it ready to go on a run. I was hoping to make it this weekend if i can get my cb mounted and stuff. We'll see.

Oops my fault I guess I was so excited I forgot to say. Its the Unlimited X 4 door for the kiddies sake. I'd like to start modding but i think the lift and stuff will void the warranty so i guess I'll hold off on that for a while. No biggie though. I'm sure within a few months I'll get the lift itch.



How do you like yours? Anything to look out for besides the dreaded death wobble and spewing fuel from the tanks at fill up?

I am running a 2" budget boost and 1.25" body lift on 35x13.5 tires. No wobble. Make monthly trips to CA and run 70-75mph the whole way.
Never had any fuel overflow issues.
Best vehicle I've ever had! I wish it had more power, but i'm running 4.10 gears. I think 5.13s will fix that. Those come next year with new tires (37s) and an Aussie front locker.

I've never had any issues with the D30 and I've gone everywhere the Rubicon guys have gone, running open diffs. I'll probably stay with the D30 and just upgrade to chromoly axles at some point. I'm not a rock crawler though....would rather do nice trail riding with my son (age 5) and have good times. It's my daily driver.

I've never heard of any lift voiding warranty.

There's bad blood between the 2 forums (which is stupid IMO), but I post on both and have learned lots. Also where I got my LOD front bumper and Shrockworks rear bumper/carrier. Always people upgrading new parts and selling used stuff in great condition!

Really appreciate all that good info! I am gonna try to learn as much as possible about this JK. I'll start modding some day. I bought this used you know and got an extended warranty from GM at the Chevy dealer. It actually states on the warranty paperwork that a lift will void certain parts of the warranty(I'm assuming suspension components). Thats alright though. Its good for trails stock. I'm happy either way. Anyways, looking forward to meeting you guys when I can get out on a club run. Thanks again.

a stock jk with a set of good off road tires is a very capable back country vehicle. a few simple mods, while keeping the suspension stock, will make it even better. enjoy it,it'll get you lots of places just as is.
