hey charlie,
i live in the north-west, past decatur and farm.
nice view of Gass Peak and the Sheep Range.
there is a road that actually starts at corn creek, goes around the base of Gass peak and ends up off decatur.
check the prices and crime stats on the web before wasting time.
i like it up here as it still has open spaces.
got into my place in '01.

I've lived in NW Vegas for about a year. Centennial Hills area at 95 and Durango. It's the last exit before the Mt. Charleston exit. I can't believe some of the fantastic prices up here. I short sold my home in CA after divorce, so I'm not eligible to buy for 24 months from when my credit reports reflect (Dec of last year). It's killing me.

I've seen many beautiful newer homes for under $150k. A couple in the $130's.

I like this area. Newer, Centennial Hospital, good shopping and restaurants. Close to the 95 and 215, so easy to get anywhere.

Just my 2 cents. Good luck!

The agent that I am working with and I, have seen everything I was interested in, that I found on my own. One in particular was a "short sale" that I was willing to make an offer on, but being a short sale it was not worth the effort. (my definition of "short sale" house for sale, but isn't) At this point the agent has a pretty good idea of what I'm looking for ( and she isn't bad looking) so I'll just let her find me something.
At present I live on the East Side and under my present circumstances, it would be more covenant to stay close to this area. Although y'all make the West Side sound very interesting.

Rick & Patti, I have not received your PM.

Thanks for all of your interest and help, Charlie

Went to Pahrump yesterday and looked at manufactured homes in a senior park called Desert Greens. They have a golf course behind the homes and the grass is a very rich green. Up until then I did not realize how much I miss green grass. Yep still looking for a place. :(

Regards

Not finding the right place or ? Just wondering, I know there are/were a ton of a good selections a while back.

My In-laws have been trying to sell for almost 2 years now. Lots of interested parties, but none able to get financed. Until the foreclosures are mostly gone though, that's going to be the norm for anyone selling.

Last time I drove around and looked at places locally, I found 12 I would consider. When they were looked up on the internet, only 1 was not pending, contingent, short sale or sold a few months earlier and are up for sale again, at a much higher price. I contacted my agent about the 1 and she said it was sold. Now for every house I seen with a sign, there appeared to be a vacant house without a sign, dead shrubs, trash,etc.. The conclusion, I believe is the banks are releasing a few, after those with connections choose theirs, for the rest of us to fight over.

What also creates a situation, is I am looking in the 1,200 Sq. ft. range with a two car garage and back or side yard access, which it appears so is everyone else. So, does your relatives home fit into my criteria?

The the only 1 that I placed a offer on turned into a pissing contest, after a considerate amount of time passed and I withdrew my offer, rather then bid higher.

Thanks for the interest.

I think their house is larger, since it was added onto, but fits on the others. I think they have info online through their realtor, I'll ask and PM you the info for poops and giggles.

Maybe some people can volunteer to help. I'm not good at painting, but I have put in a garage door and opener before. If that helps.

Thanks, I sincerely appriciate your offer.

The agent told me the house was a cash for keys place. Anyway the garage door had two differant
widths of door panels, probably backed into and does not close at the top. I called around and found
a reasonable price on a insulated door. As for the painting, three differant people will be coming out
to give me a price.

Was kind of looking for someone in the club that might be in the business, like keeping it in the family.

Thanks all and Happy Holidays, Charlie

Congrats.

I know a few people that do things like doors, windows, tile etc. A lot of my house was worked on by them. If there's anything you need done that you can't do let me know and I can put you in contact with the right person.

Hey Gary, still looking for a painter, meeting with a man to get a price to have a driveway put in today.
Would like to have some tile work done but that will be in the future and not a priority.

Was replacing the patio porch roof and had just 2 more rolls of roof roll to bring
up when I pulled a muscle in my back. I hope to be doing better in a few days and
finsh that job. Spent 3 days under the kitchen sink replaced everything, valves, lines, faucet,
installed a garbage disposal, dishwasher and have no leaks. Put in a new hot water heater
and had the garage door and opener installed, also put a window in the garage wall where someone
left a hole from a swamp cooler. There is somethong like an arber next to the patio roof, that I plan to make
into a deck.

Rome wasn't built in a day
