Allan, is that your new dirt toy? What are you planning for it? Color, lift, tires, etc.

That does not look like the stock motor. I do think that is a small block chevy Phil.

Could very well be Dave ,, but as I remember, the Chevy's had the distributer in the front... At any rate,, it's going to be a 'bad KJ' !! I'm sure that Allan won't let us down on the build... He has a habit of 'doing it right' the first time....... Phil

Phil you have it backward. Chevy has the distributor in the rear and Ford has the distributor in the front.

Thanks Dave,,, I believe you are right,, again !! I'm a little rusty at that stuff, as it's been 25 years since I was into it... I did get the small block part right... That must be a 283 Cheve... or maybe even a 327.. I knew it wouldn't be long before the D-35 was for sale (JJ).. LOL Phil

Love those old FJs! It looks like you are well on your way to a nice one. Glad to see another one on the road. Thanks for posting your progress photos. I love it when a plan comes together!

Would Allan like a couple of 44's? Looks good, and in nice shape too. I passed on a few before I got my Scout, only because the owners were trying to retire off their sale.

I worked with a guy that had a Chebby in his FJ. Always had over heating issues. Not sure, but I think it was his own/the engine builders fault. IMO there was an issue with the motor itself.

That's sacrilege!

Two of the cool things about all my vehicles, they all use the same oil filter, and the dizzy is in the front
