On Wednesday I had a good Friend killed in an accident in Colorado.
He had stopped his truck on the side of the road near Grand Junction,CO. to sleep for the night. He got up in the morning and pulled out on the hiway. He clipped a car and it went into the median. He stopped and got out to check on the other driver. While crossing I-70 he was struck and killed by a pickup. The driver kept going for about a half mile till his pickup quit running.
Paul was a Great Guy and a Good Friend with a Wonderful sense of Humor. He leaves behind a 15 year old Daughter. I will miss him.
Please everyone be careful on the road, one minute you are here the next you are gone.

Accept my sympathies for your loss. It is always a shock when these things happen. I hope the good memories you have of your friend will serve to comfort you.

Dave, I'm sorry to hear about that. Please send my sympathies to his family.

Sorry to hear of it. Another bad part is the dumb guy who hit him went from likely not getting in trouble, to going from the scene of a hit & run fatality, which is felony IIRC.

People really need be careful when dealing with interstate traffic. We're constantly having folks move their cars from dangerous spots because they just stop wherever they want to. Saving your rim due to a flat tire is not worth someone's life.

I wear reflective clothing, drive a yellow truck with bright flashing lights at night and have a mobile message board 1/4 mile back telling you I'm going to be there and I still get hit. Regular folks don't stand a chance IMO.
