Does anyone know of the trail named tie rod here in the valley? If so how about a GPS grid to the trail head.

iirc the trail is tie rod canyon and it's way beyond anything the backroaders would do. you may have better luck checking with the guys at vegas valley or total karnage. 8)

You might be better off going to the Vegas Valley website and asking there. I know they run that trail. I think it is somewhere south of the McD's/Chevron on Blue Diamond and Rainbow. I think it's south on Rainbow up in the mountains. That's just my guess though.

Do you need to bring a spare Tie-Rod along on the run?

I would be good, as I have a spare.

The trail is not that difficult. I ran it and saw a guy take a stock Rubicon through it. There are some tricky sections, but there are go arounds....

Hey Glen, since you've been there, how do you get there? What are the directions to the trail? Inquiring minds want to know!!!! :D

I don't have GPS coordinates, it is south on Rainbow til you reach the desert. You follow some power lines for a couple miles or so then there is a left hand turn where the trail starts. Its not marked you just have to keep your eyes out for the left turn. The trail is a big loop. I wish I had coordinates for you.

Sorry....

Yeah, thanks Glen. At least it will get us in the right area. I'll look on my topo maps, too.
