The past week has been a good one for the Jeep. Last Sunday I finally got to install a set of quick disconnects. Today, I put a "quick lock" locker in my rear axle, I haven't driven with it yet because I am waiting for the RTV to set. Tomorrow, I am installing 2.5 inches of lift...

I need to go to Moab more often. It gives me a reason to spend money on my Jeep.

This seriously sucks. The gear oil I bought today is the wrong weight!!! Even though the RTV is set I still can't drive my Jeep. I looked all over and nobody that is open at 1:30 AM has the stuff I need. The autoparts places all open at 8 A.M.

The one just north of Lake Mead on Nellis is 24 hrs. I think the Checker near KMart across from the DMV on East Sahara is also.

So are you saying that you won't be here at 0800 hrs this morning :?: That's okay if not, I'll just have to drink the whole pot of coffee I just made by myself.

I think they stopped doing that, unless they started again. I know they have been closed at times when I have called late.

Well I have the lift on (thanks Joe!) but I cannot drive my Jeep. For some reason the springs in my locker are not strong enough and after a short while it starts slipping. It does it so bad that the Jeep loses forward progress all together. I had to call Joe the first time it happened to come get me off the side of the road (thanks again Joe!) we changed some things and tried again but it still persists. It is comming out tommorrow and the spider gears are going back in.

No problem, Andy and you are welcome. Glad to be of service. Besides, I got paid well today. I got to experience the workings of a lunchbox locker, free pizza, free beer, and the best...hanging out with great friends!! :D

Tell me about it. I blew an air line right at the trailhead Saturday when I went to do Potato Ridge with Vegas Valley. I did the trail without any problems, I just couldn't play in the wash with the other hardcore guys.

So are you saying that you are hardcore? This so reminds me of that song that Jack Black played in "School of Rock"

"You're not hardcore, until you're hardcore and then you are HARDCORE!!!"

Funny thing is, I have a VV sticker on the back of both my KJ and TJ... Does that make me more or less hardcore than you. I am thinking it makes me more hardcore considering I stole them off of your Jeep   I'll get them back to you this weekend.

Interestingly, I just read that when a luchbox locker fails to lock you lose drive in that axle altogether. Sounds really familiar. It also says that a Detroit E-Z (same as what I had with a different name) is a very violent locker on the street. I can attest! I will not be purchasing another lunchbox locker for my TJ. Just thought I would pass that along. 8)
