For the February run, Chris and I will be running Packsaddle Loop, a run we haven't done for well over 10 years. It's about a 20 mile run in Arizona, that comes out in the small town of Chloride. We did the pre run yesterday, it's very scenic and the majority of it is rated between a 1 and a 1.25. However... I would rate the last third of it a hard 2.5  . It gets interesting in a few places and there is almost a "hairpin" turn. We had no problems when we ran it yesterday, but here are rocks and some washouts, so I can't guarantee something won't scrape underneath. Spotting will be available, if needed. This is a fairly easy run, with some challenges.

Anyone who is interested, we'll be meeting at the Shell station off of Wagon Wheel and the 515 at 9:00 and rolling at 9:30.
Also... Make sure you have a full tank of gas, we'll be going about 66 miles in to Arizona before we turn off on to the dirt.

Looks like a great run and I saw your pictures from the pre run. Please post as many photos as possible so the I can see how much 4 wheeling you guys are doing! Have a great run and know that we are freezing our butts off here in Maine! 8)

Hello Justin...

What year is your Cherokee? If it's an older one, I would think it would have enough clearance. The newer ones, appear to be built lower to the ground. But, you being an expirenced driver, I wouldn't think you would have any trouble.

To all...

Some are concerned about the interesting or rough part of this run. Larger tires or some extra lift, would of course help, but a stock vehicle should have little to no trouble. Dusty who has a stock H3, had no trouble. I know an H3 is a Hummer, but it's still stock. The other vehicle was a Chevy Colorado, (with new tires), and he had no problems.

Justin...

After I responded to you yesterday, Chris pointed out that you have one of the new Cherokee TrailHawks. There were two other Cherokees in the club, but they are no longer with us. One was owned by a co-worker of Chris and the other was owned by Michael who did the pre run with me and was driving the Chevy Colorado. Both have since traded in their Cherokees. Chris's friend now has a 2016 Wrangler Rubicon and Michael has the Colorado. The Cherokee is a great vehicle, but doesn't have a lot of lift or clearance. So to be honest, you might have problems on this run.

Ok, I will try to catch the next one. I don't get off work until 1030 tonight anyways. I'm thinking 2" lift and wheel well trim for 31"s at some point.

A tremendous big shot out and thank you to Roy and everyone who assisted in my near disaster on that step sloping and hairpin loop yesterday. They help prevent the situation from becoming very serious. Needless to say, I greatly appreciated all the help.........Bob
