Meet at 9:00 at Nipton and roll at 9:30. We will be going to the ghost town of Sunset. Then to the Lucy Grey Mine which is close to it. Last time I did this run we had a record of 42 vehicles. What is left of the town is slowly disappearing. No vehicles over 7feet high because the powerplant has forced us to go under a train bridge. The whole run has changed. Bring lunch for it will be all day. Rex & Shirley :D :D :D

I know that I'm a "ghost" of a member anymore,, but CJ and I will be at this run !! I was thinking of a possible Arrow Canyon run just a few minuets ago and I checked the site. This run will be just as exciting.. I agree with Beth,, where the heck is Nipton ?? Is that out of Search Light and then right past Smudgins Resort ? Sounds like a fun run.. Phil

I was actually going to confirm that my directions are correct (since I've never been there before). What I get when look for Nipton, CA, is this:
https://www.google.com/maps/place/Nipton,+CA+92364/@35.4747375,-115.2656874,13z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x80cf1357406ac9c1:0x7bc3755ecfe631f8

So, the intersection of Nipton Rd (164) and Nipton Dessert Rd - west from Seachlight?

I zoomed in more and figured out that yeah, Nipton is just that small. It looks like if 42 vehicles show up it'll more than double the town's population.

Krisak...

Nipton is in California and you're right, is that small. I am glad you found it though. :D See you Saturday.

Hey Rex and Shirley,
Thinking of heading over to Nipton for the Saturday run.
Missed seeing everyone at the Hump n' Bump.
Question I have is, Will the run end back in beautiful downtown Nipton?
Thanks

What's the best way to get there? I-15 or Searchlight ? Is there gas in Nipton? Never been.

Unless the run has changed since the pre-run, ye, it will end back in Nipton.

As for the best way to get there, it depends on where you live, and it depends on how much you hate driving on I-15. :)

I live in Henderson, not too far from Railroad Pass, and it's almost exactly the same distance, whether I go on I-15 or via Searchlight. But, the Searchlight route is much more pleasant.

Google maps knows where Nipton is. If you get directions form it, you can calculate how far, and how long, different routes will be.

No gas in Nipton. Best is in Searchlight or Primm depending on the path you take

We have had to change our plans, we regret that we will be unable to attend. Have a great ride and hope to see you the next run.
