Not going to make it :? Going to the DMV

I've made two trips to Beatty in the last 4 days. :? New mexican resturant on the main corner, been open a week and a half. Not bad. Also, the surplus guy has about 5 M416 Jeep Trailers on the lot, all pintle set ups. $500(chasis)$700(flat bed)$850(M416A1 surge brake, good tub/bent axle)$1200(full trailer with good tub) most need to be trailered home as projects(dry rot tires & no lights).

David, my geology buddy, pointed out this site, which provides a little background on the geology of Titus Canyon. I'll be pointing out some of these things on Saturday.

We just wanted to thank everyone for such a nice introduction to Nevada Backroaders. We had a great time meeting everyone and really enjoyed Titus Canyon. And we want to thank Keith, John, Beth and everyone who nursed us out of Death Valley. It was reassuring having so many people concerned about our welfare. I think that sealed the deal...now where's that membership application???

I had a great day with the club. Lots of great scenery and people. I'm glad the weather cooperated for the entire run, but it got it's revenge for the drive home. As soon as we left the cafe/restaurant, the weather turned really ugly. We had blowing dust from Beatty to about halfway between Amargosa and Indian Springs. The dust was so thick at times the visibility was a couple of hundred feet. When we got close to Indian Springs, we got rain. Made for an interesting drive home.

Glad you guys got home safe last night. The winds really smacked hard. Those of us who stayed in Beatty were worried about those who took the highway. Thanks for posting.

Thanks for coming out, everyone! It was great, and I'm glad everyone got home safe.

The only thing worse than driving in blowing sand is airing up in blowing sand - I now know this for a fact.

And don't worry, Mudshark, we only leave people behind once they become members.
