NEW MEETING PLACE FOR THIS RUN : I'm no longer going to meet at railroad pass for my runs. It's become too busy on the highway leaving the parking lot especially on the weekends so we'll be meeting at the shell station on exit 56 ( wagonwheel ). This is the offramp just BEFORE railroad pass. They have gas, mini mart. car wash etc. along with Remedy's bar and grill that's supposed to have good breakfasts. Meet at 8:30 LEAVE @ 9:00 am. We'll travel down 95 and turn east a few miles before Searchlight and head into the mountains. There are several mines to check out and we have lots of options depending on the turnout. We'll work our way south along this range eventually ending up on the Cottonwood Cove Rd. The vegetation have become really thick and very pretty along through the trail with creosote, barrel cactus,cholla and a few flowers here and there. Lots of joshua trees also. Because of the overgrowth, the possibility of some "desert pin stripping " exists. Cool rock formations and some "rock art" are along the trail and I'll try to post some geocache locations before the run. Two pet cemeteries to check out to at the end of the day if we have time. We'll end the run in Searchlight. Anyone with new rigs if you can bring a cb radio it makes the run a lot more fun and interesting. See everyone there! All the extra rain has really made the desert beautiful. |

Steve, Glad you decided to meet at a different spot. I agree, getting out of Railroad Pass is more and more dangerous. Maybe when they build that multi-lane highway through there, things will be better. I plan on being fit enough to come. We'll see. |

I'm in! I should be gathering the last few remaining parts for my CB install this weekend, so "hopefully" I will have that installed soon and in time for this run. Looking forward to it! JT |

I'm really excited...I Jeepin' Joe rigged a third row seat to turn my 5 passenger WJ into a 6 passenger. What does that mean? That means I can drag my whole family along with me and finally go on a Club Run!!! As a FAMILY!!! Now that's what I'm talking about!!! Okay, maybe I should curb my excitement. Looking forward to spending the day in the dirt with some like minded wheelers...it's been too long!!! |
