Let's all cool off in the heat of late June and wheel up Wheeler Pass at night. June 25th. Meet at the Cold Creek / US 95 intersection. This is about 32 miles North of the "Rainbow Curve" on US 95. Meet at 7:00 pm and leave at 7:30 pm. We'll drive on the pavement to the town of Cold Creek and air down and disconect there. Should be in Pahrump around midnight. Hope to see you all there!

The first change: the trail rating is enhanced from a normal Wheeler 1.5 to a solid 2.5 related to washouts from the snow melt.
Second change: The route will be changed. We will be running the normal way and having lunch at the well. Then heading out we will turn left and go back over the pass, ending up back at Cold Creek. I think it will make a much more interesting run. Hope to see you all there!

Whatdya think with my truck? Adding some lighting to it soon to have more night capability... but just curious about the trail itself. A little unnecessary roughness is okay but a beatdown is frowned upon lol.

if you are 4WD there is no problem. You will, however, have plenty of "desert pin striping"

rob, there is a narrow wash down to well that is to tight for a full size truck.
jim c. took his h1, yet there was yellow paint is places on some rocks.
there is also a go-around trail i can take you and grandpa to the well.
your choice.
hope you can make this run.
remember, snow mtn, paiute.
not moapa, valley of fire.

I was hoping to go on the run tonight. But, my Jeep is still in mallcrawler mode. :( I bought the parts to fix the front driveshaft. Evidently the local company I got everything from does not think there is a difference between a regular TJ shaft and a Rubicon shaft. All the parts do not fit. they are too small. :x :x :x

I hope everyone has fun tonight.
