February Club Run will be Cottonwood Pass.
Meet at Rainbow/Hwy 160 at the Chevron/McDonald's/Terrible Herbst parking lot at 9am. We'll roll at 0930am.
If some want, they can stage at the historic marker parking lot on the left side of the road just below the Mt Potosi/Boy Scout camp turn off. There is a pit toilet and area to air down, disconnect, etc.
We'll follow the trail over Cottonwood Pass and stop at a ridge top viewing site that over looks the valley. Farther down the trail is a petroglyph site for more pictures.
Plan on ending in Goodsprings. If time permits, there are some mining sites farther up off Kingston Rd. The offical club run ends here.
Bring something to bbq as the Pioneer Saloon has opened up the grilling back porch area.
$5.00 and you can grill burgers/brats/hot dogs and purchase sodas at the Quik Mart next door to saloon.
Kids are ok in the pool room which has a tribute to Carole Lombard and Clark Gable.
History shows that her plane crashed on Mt Potosi. Carole was contributing to the war bond efforts and was returning home to Clark and Hollywood. All were lost.
Children are okay on the patio area.
Trying to find runs closer to home now that gasoline is >$3.00 a gallon.

I'm your worst nightmare John. I got divorced and didn't wheel for awhile (cool that rhymes) Jeepin Joe got married and hasn't wheeled since. I guess the old saying is true, (A man isn't complete untill he is married and then he is finished)

Hey everyone, I think I'll be able to make this run! It sounds like it will be a good trip! I plan on bringing my son out for the first time, he is 2 1/2 and loves the Jeep!

hey rob,
guess we can "grandfather" you in as your co-pilot can take blame...er..credit if the going gets tough.
not sure if the wash out sections will be a challenge in a full size with bigger tires, yet we can try it.
one never knows, does one?
glad to see ya along. the mojave run was not something i would of done w/o 4x4.
discretion is the better than valour, especially where carnage or strappin' is concerned.
c ya saturday.
post script, one time i was on the pass with marilyn enjoying the wide open sapces. heard a very unhappy engine labouring up the grade.
it was a dodge caravan "mommmy" van.
the 2 teens driving it said it wasn't theirs, yet they were seeing how far it could go.
didn't inquire further as i didn't want a subpoena in my future. just waved good-bye.

as Rubicon Bob stated, all are welcome.
just bring a trail rig, supplies for snacks/water. Checkout the Backroaders web site for the minimal equipment required for the vehicle.
it's a safety issue.
no one is left behind on any run.
we have rescued and towed out a few members, and some complete strangers who were stranded.
of course ,the rescued members do become victims of the merciless puns and stories around many camp fires when rescue rangers meet.
just be warned.
