Thanks for the offer Desertrat.. But it appears that somehow the old drive got "formatted" !! Everything was errased, just leaving a blank drive. I had it checked at Fry's where I got the new one. I'm using it now for a remote back-up storage unit. I've done a complete system and file copy on it so far (38 G worth of info) and I think that it might work for me best that way.. Phil
