I'm 100% in.
Bringing a buddy along to break in his new FJ Cruiser.
May have 1-3 more vehicles join.

Are you doing pre-run tonight? I heard it wasn't too washed out from the rain as of last weekend.

Pre ran it yesterday.
It's in good shape, and they are actually running a dozer and grader on electric ave this week. We passed them yesterday.

If I can get my CB good to go I might be out there with the JK. Anyone going doorless or is it too cold? I'm so used to the old WJ I dunno what to do with the Wrangler. :?:

We did a pre-run of the trail today to check on any trail damage from the rains this week.

There is some water damage; however, it is still passable with a stock hi-clearance 4x4 with a (low range) 2 speed transfer case. Some of the trail is narrow with bushes/trees and desert pin striping is likely.

I'm rating this trail a 2+ and recommend the following:
1. 4x4 not an AWD.
2. Stock 4x4 truck/SUV clearance or more. Ground effect plastic and running boards may be damaged.
3. Two speed transfer case so you can run low range on the extended steep down hills

Leaving from Railroad pass casino hotel, we will drive 25 miles of paved HWY 95 (sorry) before getting in the dirt at Grandpa Rd. where we will air down.

The weather is forecast to be good. The trail is a fun one with beautiful views. And of course picnic lunch at the Colorado river which is very high right now.

We will come out near Nelson NV, and take that paved road back to 95 near the dry lake bed.

If you have any questions please PM me.

See everyone at 8am at the Railroad Pass Hotel Casino.

Mike & Elisabeth
