If it's where I think Rex is talking about, the trail runs on the west side of SR 95 between Mercury and Indian Springs. The coordinates for Sterling Mine is
N36 29.414 W115 57.467 I remember doing that trail a few times once being after a Johnnie Mine run. If you were heading north on SR95, it would be the first trail to the left (west) after you cross into Nye County. When you come out, you will be heading southward and loop back to SR95 and be back in Clark County. So, you would circle around a mountain where the mine is located. I hope that helps out some.

For the dust in the long sections , and for the heat if you have ac. It will be hot in the Johnnie Mine area , that we will run in the morning . But at Mt Sterling , where we will be in the afternoon it should be cooler. But I would put them on just for the heat if you have ac , and the dust if that is a problem with you. For as having them on because you may fall out , the trail is stock friendly and there is no big off camber. If you have never been on a shelf trail before and think you could get vertigo then put them on. Plus, don't look all the time down the hill, watch the trail in front of you and you'll be ok. :D Rex

I would keep them on, just since it's a relatively long drive out that way.

get beat half to death before even starting the day.

Just take Hwy 160 towards Pahrump. Terrible's Casino is located at the corner of Hwy 160 and Hwy 372. If you go past a Walmart, you went too far. Keep your CB on CH 4.

For anyone planning on Breakfast in Pahrump like we are. Last time we were through there on a geocaching trip at 6am, we found out Terrible's restaurant didn't open til 8am. But then we went next door to the Nugget and found that they have a great steak and eggs breakfast for only a few bucks and are open early in the morning. Last time it was a Sunday so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with Terrible's hours, but we'll be at the Nugget around 7:15 or so anyway. :D
See you all in the AM!

Thanks Rex, Tom, et al. I had a great time seeing the area again. So much has changed, but so much hasn't...and thanks too, to Whtwolfden (Gus) for helping me break 100 geocache finds. As of today, I have 108 total finds. My Jeep turned over 100K while out in the desert today...another milestone. Overall, it was an awesome day with a group of awesome people. What fun I had!!!
