I pinged some friends who do dune trips with quads all the time. Going to try to meet up and do an overnight deal. Anyone else in for camping? |

if i was you i'd take the beltway to the charleston/sr159 exit, drive out past red rock and blue diamond to where it intersects with sr160. top off the old gas tank at the gas station there, price is high so fill up closer to home, reset your trip meter to zero and then head for pahrump on sr160. you'll get over mountain pass then make a big lazy right turn and you'll be headed for pahrump, at about 26 miles from the gas station start looking for the turn out on your left, there's a information kiosk and should be lots of 4x4 vehicles parked there. if you have a cb radio have it on channel 4 and try calling out to any backroader. if you cross the nye county line you've gone to far and need to turn around and go back. the turn-off should have a sign saying either old spanish trail or tecopa. give yourself 90 minutes and you'll be fine.

hey i have been deployed its been six months since i have been 4x4ing time to get the jeep dirty. i am off the day of the run i am going to try and make it out. i am running a stock jeep wrangler 2007. thanks mat |

Sorry I will not be making this run. It seems the valve noise I have had is not a bad lifter. It is however water in the oil, maybe a bad head gasket. Therefore I will be pulling the head off of the engine this weekend.  Everyone have fun. |

Thanks Charlie. I'm not sure if I will be doing the work this weekend. The water in the oil is from me washing the engine off with the hose. I still might need to pull the head and replace the lifters, but I think I'm going to wait till all the parts are here. |
