Whiskey Pete's is on I-15 south at the California state line. The trail will take us through the Clark Mtns.

John and I will be there. If it is the same one that I am thinking of several years ago, when we stopped for lunch at that huge rock mtn it was so windy and cold everyone ate their lunch in their rigs and the meeting was over the cb's. It is a pretty nice area. Chris

I'll be there. I love this one.

Bob, if you plan on exiting at Nipton Road, it's closed to the south bound traffic. You will have to go to Bailey Road and turn around to catch Nipton. Just a thought.

Thanks Tom. I also heard there may be a back way from Primm. I'll check it out when I get back from AZ.

Bob could we take the dirt road east out of Primm to the railroad tracks, and follow that road to Nipton :?:
I'm not sure where that is at the moment. I will look at that next weekend when I get back from COLD and snowy Prescott AZ  .

Hey Bob...Barb and I would like to do this one too! Really enjoyed the monthly newsletter from January. W got a new dog...and it will be on a leash! By the way I got the phone info for Bob and Heather "Rosenfeld?" I left them a message but have not heard back.

I am going to look at the Delorme software I got for TOPO and see if I can find the trail based on what I read in the messages herein.

Look forward to seeing you again on the 21st of Feb!

just a note to everyone planning on making this trip. the mine itself is at almost 5700 feet and the usual lunch spot is at about 5300 feet elevation. it's going to be chilly and i have it on good authority that there is a good bit of snow up there right now, so bring warm clothes and jackets for while we're on top. don't want anyone getting frost bite while visiting the mojave desert.  tell anyone back east you're going to visit snow on a trip to the desert and they'll think you been hitting too many of those free drinks at the casinos. 8)

Since I was out of town on business and the C4W convention, I had limited internet and no e-mail.

There was an issue with the E. Mohave run. So I asked Brad to change it for me to Clark/Colosiem. Meeting place and time is the same. Sorry for the last minute change.

I deleted most of the posts about the Nipton Rd clouser, as it no longer pertained to the run.

There was maybe about 3 inches of snow in spots on the trail on Saturday. But with a couple more weather systems moving through during the week, who knows what it may look like. Any way it will be fun.
