Cyclopic/ Fry Mine, Arizona
November 22nd
Meeting Place: Boulder City, Rebel gas station
Meet: 08:30
Roll: 09:00
Trail: 2 because of some washed out intersections, very stock friendly, some potential for desert pinstripe
Trail leader: JJ, woo-hoo
For this trip we become the Arizona Backroaders for a day.
We'll leave the Rebel, head out past the dam to White Hills Rd. The trail starts at the end of pavement.
We will come out at Gregg's Hideout Rd.
We're gonna hit up the old ghost town and mines around Cyclopic, Arizona. Fry mine is also in the area where we'll do lunch at the tank. This goes into some really neat mountains ranges with really good views. Not a hard trail, stock friendly.
Can't promise anything, but wild horses are out there, and we saw some deer fairly close to trail.
We hit quite a few washes in this area and the trail is not easily followed if you get separated, so it is IMPERATIVE that you keep the vehicle behind you in your sights at all times.
http://good-times.webshots.com/album/56 ... S?start=12Last time we did it, we made an optional end of the day trip. Once you get on Gregg's Hideout and come to Pearce Ferry, you can follow that through Dolan Springs back to the highway.
Or you can continue on down Antares Road (a LONG loose graded dirt road) to Hackberry, AZ and visit the Route 66 Visitor's Center for a bit and then follow us on to Kingman for dinner at the Cracker Barrel. That makes it an ALL DAY trip.
