I finally got fri, sat, and sun off for this. is anyone leaving friday morning? I have to work thurs night, so thats my only option and Id like to caravan up with some people and not just by myself if possible. also is there a place I can set up a tent and make a fire? just regular old camping? Id rather do that than stay in a motel or whatever.

Im really looking forward to this as it will be my first "official" club run... I cant think of a better sounding trip to start off!

I think most are leaving on Thursday, as it is about a 4-5 hour trip. There is a KOA campground up there that has some real nice tent sites. Not sure of the price.

Cave Lake SP is $14 a night and they have showers too. If you go that route, I'd recommend the first set of camp grounds on the left just before the lake. They're called Elk Flat or something like that. There's also camping at Ward Charcoal Ovens SP too, but the sites are very primitive. IIRC all they have are pit toilets. It's also a ways to get to them on a gravel road.

As for meeting everyone, we usually end up at Phil's and Geno's in Ruth around 6ish on.

I always thought the party stated right after getting back from the trail. Hmmm...maybe it only seems that way because some of us are staying there.

Well, I've made some time to come up and have fun in Ely.
I've missed wheeling with everyone. I haven't had the tomato
in the dirt in a long time. Being the big cheeze these days makes me
feel like a dirty rat  12hours a day and hemed up weekends. I need
some laughs and some mellow wheel'n with friends. See ya thur.night! I'll be at
the KOA the bar is always open....

Darrell,
glad you can make it for Ely.
Life is too short to not spend time around a campfire with friends.
Turn off the cell phone, laptop.
Road Trip Caravan on Thursday?

Not sure when I'll be heading out, shooting for 9:30-10-ish maybe if
all goes well. Traveling 65-70 most of the way to save fuel. Thanks for
the warm and fuzzy guys :D
