I'm sure it is to late for anyone to use (sorry) but here is a gpx (GPS exchange file) with the track and route we ran a few years ago... Also inclded the way we came back from pahrump via Potato/Red Rocks.

http://www.danielsperformance.com/backroad/trails/wheeler_pass-potato-redrocks.gpx

Right click and save to download file from my server

See you in a few hours
Mike

Thanks Bob and Shirley for another great day in the dirt. And just like a great trail leader - ice cream at the end of the trail! Is that why we had such a big turnout? Sure was a lot of traffic out there - guess everyone wanted to get out of the heat. It was good to see everyone.
Here is a link to our pics from the day:

Bob thanks for a great day on the trail. We really saw some beautiful scenary yesterday. Joe, thanks for leading the alternate trail back to Red Rock as well. I had a great time and saw how much more capable my Jeep is. Maybe next time I'll miss the rock.

What a great run !! Thanks Bob !! I acually remembered some names.. CJ & Felicia had a fun day.. Me too !! The bigger tires sure made a difference (thanks Andy & Sheila)... It was fun to meet the new people and the day was perfect !!

Here are my pics & vids.. >> Image

As for the intrepid explorers that were brave enough to follow Joe instead of having icecream in Parumph,,, I salute you !!! It was an exciting diversion !! Thanks Joe for leading !! Everyone had a great time and the scenery was great ! The setting sun in Red Rock was spectacular !! Lisa made her 'debut' as a Jeeper,, and I think that we've got a new recruit !! Her next purchase 'might' be a Jeep !!!

Anyway,,, here are the pics & vids of the "Carpenter, Lovall, and Potato Ridge excursion...

It was a long day to say the least,,, but great fun with great people !!! Phil
