The October Club Run to the Mojave Natl Preserve made history on several levels - it was the longest running and had the most surprises! I can't tell you how much FUN I had!!! While I am adding a link to my photos, these were before lunch and before ALL the surprises! I expect others to add their photos, too. Can't wait to see them!

Thanks to EVERYONE who came with such an adventurous spirit, and especially to Bob who lead this great day and arranged the surprises!! :D :D
Oh, and thanks, Mac, for being the lights in front of me in that amazing dust storm on the way out of Searchlight....now THAT was also a surprise!

the trail goes around the tree...

The Rubi Curse...starts with Bob Lucy was in perfect position to extract the stuck Rubi.
Image
the road was washed out (not Bob`s fault)

Image
Lucy exiting the same location...road is washed away
Image
lots more careful crossings ...sorry did not capture pics
this was the view almost back to searchlight..the wind was strong
Image
no pics of the ride home...to busy navigating the road with wind
the ride back to Vegas was incredible ...at times we had to slow to 2mph
could not see anything. the road was blocked at the turnoff in Boulder city
they should have blocked the road in Searchlight..
(Intense wind was part II of the Rubi Curse)
on a scale of 1 to 10...
i rate this Oct club run a 10 for the Fun the company and scenery

Thanks to All that made this an awesome day!

WHAT A GREAT RUN! Lots of fun and (as Lucy calls them) Surprises. The only bummer was the dust storm at the dry lake bed. I must have been just in front of Lucy and Mac. Also got home around 10:00.
Thanks Bob!

I didn't see any curse. Since this is a teaching club, sometimes you have to be willing to show "what not to do" and proper recovery techniques. Yes, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Thanks for such an adventure Bob! Great run. And thanks for the couch.
Great teamwork and positive attitudes made for a wonderful day.

Grats to Lucy for earning her Rescue Ranger badge. Bonus points for rescueing the trail boss.

 There was nothing but good remarks and support so Bob is off the hook for the "surprizes". Besides, the guidlines say a club run is limited to a 2.5, this was just a really tough 2.5  Can't wait to read the trail boss report on how you "Meant to do that"

Here are the pictures that I took. Mike, I have a few of your Dodge that you might be interested in. Sorry I did not get everyone going thru that wash out but it took me a while to make my way up to the front. Chris.

I agree with ALL above !!! What a RUN !!! It started out as a rather blah mondane excursion in the beautiful Mojave Road area... Then, without warning, turned into an exciting romp in the unpredictable 'outback' known as the Lamfare Valley... As for the "Rubi Curse",, I agree with Bob,,, nothing 'broke' and we all made it thru,,, so,,, just a venture into the 'twilight zone' of a fun run at the end... This has to be the best Club Run I've ever been on !!! Mike and his Dodge proved that it was 'just a club run',, but somehow I dispute the 2.5 rating.... CJ & I made it thru the dry lake area with only a quarter mile of dust storm.. It was really weird to drive all the way from Search Light to Boulder without seeing one vehicle coming the other way !!! Anyway,,, here are my pix of the day... Enjoy...

By the way,,, my tranny is still working fine... The 'trail' fixed it...
