I really, really liked this run! I had never been to Gold Butte before, and the colors were marvelous! 8) The roads were both long and interesting - and that washboard action at 40 mph made me LAUGH (don't think Zinger laughed, though)

Thanks to everyone who came - as always, it is terrific to spend a day with friends that like the same thing I like - wheelin'

Here is a link to my photos for those who may be interested
See ya next time!

Thanks to JC for leading. We had a great time up until it was time to leave Gold Butte after lunch and our battery decided to die. Thanks to everyone that helped to diagnose our problem after it died the second time. Sorry to have dropped out of the run, but we didn't want to take a chance that something would go really wrong and hold everyone else up again. The buffet was good after, too. (Plenty of icecream for everyone that wanted it-sorry Tom-no vanilla for you). See ya all next time in Ely!

Thanks John and Mary for the great time out in the dirt. Thanks too for showing us the Petroglyphs. I've been down that way many times and have never know exactly where they were. Now I know. :D

It was nice wheelin' with everyone and visiting, too. It was a great turnout considering the distance we had to travel.

Oh, and Bob, Sunrunner said he saw a sign that stated the big fire went through there in July of 2005. A friend of mine and I led a group through there in Sept. 2005... here's the 2005 pics (click on Thumbnail)
Image You can see the brush fire damage in this album.

And here are my pics of the day, too!!!

Just click the pic :D

Thanks John and Mary for a fun club run. Tom thanks for filling in the back part of the trail. Ya did a fine job. It was a nice area out there especially the colors and all. It did take me about 3 hours to clean all the dust out and off the Jeep but she looks really good now.

Here's my link to pix from the trip. They also included the after run party camping trip Al, Joe, Matt and I did up towards Virgin Peak. It was a good run and camping trip up there. See the post in camping and exploring for more details.
