Ok, boys and girls, here is the run you have been waiting for all year. The last night run of the year and the first night run of next year.

JC has agreed once again to lead us into the hills to watch fireworks from all around the valley on New Years Eve. We will be meeting at the Chevron/McDonalds (corner of Rainbow and Blue Diamond) @10pm. Roll out @ 10:30pm. This trail is stock friendly for all.

Dress warm and bring your hot chocolate. 8)

Don't forget to bring chairs. The spot we usually watch fireworks from allows us to see the firework from Greenvalley to Henderson.

I'll have to work Sunday 7a-6p when I'm normally off and then be back at work on Monday morning at 6a. I may be able to squeeze two hours of sleep in there.

How long is the ride from town to the lookout spot roughly? If I can leave shortly after the fireworks and get a few hours of sleep before I have to get up for work, I'll see if I can make it. I've done it from Cottonwood Valley Road a few times. It will make for a long day, but it will be worth it. :D

From our lookout point, you can watch traffic on Fort Apache near Warm Springs. It is in the hill next to that detention basin they built on 160 a few years back. So maybe 15 minutes from gas station to party central.

I'll be working too, right in the middle of the tornado that takes over the Strip :|

i am only working until 3pm on 12/31st.
if anyone needs a ride up the hill, will have an extra seat.
don't have to be anywhere until 10am-ish the next day.
finally, a real new year's event where i am not asking someone, "how much did you have to drink, and what size WAS that one glass? the whole bottle?"
this won't hurt me a bit.....

 Wow just got Tuesday off too. National Day of Mourning for Pres Ford. No, I don't remember him.

Now just gotta put in 2 days strategic leave and I wont have to work a full week at all in Jan. :P

We will be there there with blankets, chairs and hot cocoa. Might even share

hey guys, I'm not getting off till about 10 or so that night, so I would be a tad late for the run, but I could possibly get to the actual event in time.

where is the trailhead located?

I don't live far from Blue Diamond and Rainbow at all.

We will be going in from Fort Apache, just north of Blue Diamond. Give me a call on my cell when you get close. Maybe we can tell you how to get to us or we can meet up. 232-3422.
