Anyone interested in a fun run this Saturday 10/14? I want to go to Mt. Charleston (perfect time of year to take the top down!) either over Wheeler Peak or Angel Peak. Let's plan something. I could probably find my way around up there - but I could also turn the wrong way once or twice, too. Any takers?

I'll be home Friday evening and I most certainly will be anxious to go on a run Saturday. I was thinking Angel Peak. I've wanted to do it backwards, but going through Grapevine then to Angel Peak is awesome. Just pick a time and place to meet and I'll be there, Lucy. :D

Running Angel Peak backwards sounds like a great plan. What will the trail rate going that way? (3-3.5 due to the rock waterfall??) Lets meet at the Sante Fe Hotel, in the northwest part of the parking lot (nearest to Rancho/95) at 8:30 and we can leave at 9:00. I'm sure it will be beautiful in the mountains & I look forward to the run!

I certainly don't like to turn people away from going out and having fun, but I feel that this trail would be pretty hard for your truck Mike. The waterfall Lucy is talking about doesn't have a go around and is pretty narly, short and steep. I think your truck would high center and without lockers, it would really be tough getting over it. I could see a lot of rock rash happening there. In addition to that, the trail up to Angel Peak from that area is very narrow and has a lot of loose rock on long, steep hills. If you were locked front and rear, and had a little more clearance, I'd say go for it.

Anyone else who has run Angel Peak feel the same or am I way off?

Most definitely harder doing it backwards, mostly due to the waterfall, but there is a lot of loose rock inclines, too.

I'll see you at the Santa Fe parking lot at 8:30.

Just so you know, the weather guessers are calling for a 70% chance of rain from Friday night into Sunday. Likely you'd get some rain or even snow up there.

It rained, then snowed on us last Friday in Ely, got some cool pics of Cooper Canyon before it melted and turned into a mud bog

I agree, Joe. Might be tough for the Ram, Mike.

I can go on Sunday, not Saturday though. Have a good time, guys!

hmmmm....guess I better keep the top up on my jeep - unless I want to get soaked!
However, a little rain would make the trail that much more interesting and the rain always smells wonderful!

It will be fun

I would love to go on this run sounds like a blast. But Geno needs his TC swapped out so he will be ready for Hump and Bump, maybe next time.

A little rain won't be bad. Snow would be okay, too. Just getting out for this run is going to be fun.

You'd really like this run Bill. Good luck with Geno's TC. I hope all goes easy for you guys.

Cool Al, I'm glad you will be able to make it. Is there anyone else going? Or is it just the tree of us right now?

I'll be home Friday night, getting the Jeep ready for the run. I haven't seen it for a week now. I'll only have to throw my CO2 tank on. The tops still on just in case it is raining, I'll be ready.

C'ya Saturday morning!!

Well, I made it back to Vegas. The plane ride in was a little bumpy as the plane was breaking through the clouds, and then again on the landing.

It is 1 am and it has been raining like cats and dogs for about 20 minutes now. Either we are going to have some snow or mud or washouts or...just plain old fun.

I won't be bringing my camera. I forgot my SD card in Ohio. I downloaded all the pictures and forgot to put my SD card back in the camera. Dang!!! That sucks!!!

Could be an adventure! My son, Steve, cancelled out on me - but my friend Jayne, is up for the experience. I asked her if she scares easily & she told me "no". That's a good thing!

While weather radar shows a clearing in the rain this morning, a 70% chance of rain is a 70% chance!
