Here are the pictures of the weekend Steve, Rob, Mike and Tanya, and I went on through Carp, Meadow Valley, Pennsylvania Canyon, Ella Mountain, and off to Beaver Dam State Park, then to Caliente, and the Delamar Valley, before getting back on pavement coming out of Alamo Canyon.

Here are the pictures Part 1

And the other pictures Part 2

I may plan another trip up to Beaver Dam State Park via some unexplored trails further to the east and then up to there. Sometime in the future. Until then, enjoy!!

Thanks!! I picked up that Jeep grill @ Sam's Club a while back. I thought it was pretty cool. I wish it came in Yellow. :P

You'd love it through that region, Al. It is really beautiful.

I was thinking of staying home this weekend, but not doing something is killing me. :x

If we go to the lake, I can take my Kayak's, I have two. If you have a life jacket, that is. I wouldn't want to get caught on the lake without one.

The lake would be a possiblity. If I get everything done that I wanted to get done today, it will clear my schedule for Sunday.

Where to??

Yeah, I read the post last weekend about the night run to Bitter Springs on the 1st. I thought it was for the 8th at night and I was all ready to go then I re-read the post and was disappointed. Plus missing all the fun last weekend I am itching to get out and do something.
I sold my boat before I moved out here and all the life jackets with it. :(

Maybe a little too hot for the water, not sure. We could either find a trail heading to the lake that we haven't done or head somewhere where it is cooler(higher up). I'll have Matt and Kasey with me.

I'm not sure where to go. Any ideas? Maybe somewhere you've done before but not for a while?
Don't mean to make you do all the thinking, but you've got more knowledge and experience around here than I do. :D

You can call me on my cell at 232-6502.

I work at noon tomorrow, but get off by 5 at latest and don't work again till the next afternoon.

What's the time on that run? I have to work Monday morning, but I might be interested. I'll know better tomorrow afternoon.

Very cool pics Joe that looks like a great time. I would like to do that run sometime, maybe we could arrange that.

Looks like a good trip.

2 things. the pic of the mud nests under the cliff you weren't sure about: Swallows nests. They are all over big time up North, not so many down this way though. They are commonly referred to as Cliff Swallows when they nest that way.

And the mine you saw going into Caliente is a perlite mine my cousin's husband either owns or runs, forget which it is.

Hey Joe,

I'm definitely heading to Mt. Charleston tomorrow. I've got to get out and hit some trails. I'll be at the first Mt. Charleston cut-off (157) off of 95N at about 7:30am. I''m not sure where that trail starts that we were talking about, but I figure I can find it. If you still want to go, I''ll see you there.

Ahhhhrrrgh!!! I'm so on the fence. I know I should stay home and finish what I didn't get done today, but...

I'll probably see you there. Top off and wind in my hair!! :D

Anyone else?? We will be doing Grapevine and then Angel Peak. I know a few of you went a few weeks ago, but I was unable to make that run and it would be nice to be out in the mountains where it is cool. It's also a fairly short run for those who won't be able to stay up late for the Bitter Springs night run.

Last time we ran that at night we got started around 7:30 pm and I think I got home around 1:30 am. I've got to be up by 5 am to go to work, so that's a no go for me for sure. :(

lemme know if we're doing Bitter Springs tomorrow night.

Seems like you all got a lot on the plate already. Schedule it for sometime later perhaps?
