Brad, or anyone, I would like to know if we can set up some type of run for this weekend for Andy. This will be his last weekend here before he leaves for his deployment for 4 months. I know he likes some hard trails, so maybe we can do something that is a little challenging, but stock friendly too. If you don't mind, we can try for Sunday. I might need to recover from Friday because I just reenlisted and we maybe going out and have a few for the celebration. Let me know what we can come up with.

Thank you in advance, Sheila

sheila, i may be out of town but maybe one of the other guys can step up. i think you and andy have run most of the moderate tough trails already so it'll be hard to come up with anything unless someone wants to take you guys over potato road but i think you guys did that one too. it's the trail that connects lovell canyon to the loop at red rock. rates about a 3 last i heard. if i don't see you guys tell andy to stay safe and thanks to both of you for doing your jobs. 8)

Lake Mojave sounds good. I don't think we have done that one yet. Just need to figure out a good place to meet up and roll out.

Going to the lake sounds like fun. What trail are you thinking about Al??? We could have a little picinic or something by the lake possibly??

Usually when I get a group together to go to Lake Mojave/Nelson area, we meet at the Chevron Station at Exit 59 off I-93/95/515. There is a Chevron/Jack-in-the-box up on top of the hill. I fill up there and grab some snacks and it's back on the freeway. I know it's close to Al's house and just down the road for me. I usually set a meeting time of 8 am with an 8:30 roll out time. Just a suggestion.

Al, you gonna be able to go? You want to lead?? Let me know. I'm not sure where exactly you are talking about. I know of a nice beach area but it is about 10 miles south of Searchlight. It's kinda remote and not a lot of people go there, but sometimes I'm surprised.

I really think the whole picnic thing and water atmosphere would be something very enjoyable for Andy's last day in the Valley. I'm pretty much up for any trail out there, just let me know so I can get him up on Sunday for a good day of fun and relaxation before he goes.

Joe- I haven't been down there at all. Actually I remembered you talking about some trails down by Searchlight or Nelson?? that led down to the lake. That's what I was thinking about. I will know tomorrow or possibly tonight if I can make it and I'll let you know.

The Chevron/Jack-in-the-Box sounds like a good place to meet.

How about Burro Wash? IIRC that's about a 2- 2 1/2? Comes out towards the top of Mojave from Boulder City. I forget what road you take, but it follows a power line road most of the way. Brad or Scuba might know which street you start from.

I've never been down Burro Wash, but a friend of mine is always talking about going down there. Is there enough room and a nice place to have a picinic and a beach-like area to swim?? I'd be up for that since it is closer to LV than the place I go to south of Searchlight. I found the powerline and trail on my Mapsource Topo Maps for my GPS.

If it's not a good beach area, we could go to the one I go to further south near Searchlight.

Where ever we go, lets plan on meeting at 8 am at the Chevron/Jack-in-the-box at Horizon Exit 59 off I-95. We could gas up and go from there around 8:30. Spend the day at the lake. Bring food and drinks, swimming attire if you want to swim, chairs, etc.
How's that???

Sound great either way. The weather is looking good for this weekend. I was thinking of trying to bring the dog for once to see how she does.

Well, we got a meeting place and time, we just need to decide on Burro Wash or Sandy Wash south of Searchlight. As soon as we know if Burro Wash has a good beach-like area or not, then we could decide where exactly to go. To get to Sandy Wash is no more than a 2 if that.
