I have to miss the club run tomorrow, so I'll make up for that and get my fix on Monday.

if anyone has any ideas on trails I'm game; just remember I'm stock...for now.

i am free to wheel on monday, also. gotta punch the clock this weekend.
left a message for tom to get back to brad if he can go.
now that my GPS is up and running i am looking forward to loading the memory card.
just shows what effective communication with customer support can do. i even spoke to someone who had english as their first language.
unbelievable.
didn't have to teach him some new american colloquial phrases.

ok then, we'll do the nelson trail. we'll meet at the railroad pass casino at 0830 roll by around 0900. bring lunch and such. we'll be checking out eldorado wash and the mines down there, the techatticup mine and all the touristy stuff there. then over the nelson-searchlight shortcut where we'll pickup the powerline road and finish with the petroglyphs at keyhole canyon. see you then. 8) by the way, this is open to ANYONE that has monday off and wants a little trail time. 8)

Brad,

About how long do you think you'll be out on Monday? It's a quasi off day and I'd like to hit the trail and still be able to get to work by mid to late afternoon.

we could be done somewhere between 2 and 4. it's hard to say more exactally then that. a lot will depend on how quickly we can get thru eldorado canyon and the techatticup mine. 8)

GREAT run today, thanks Brad! It was nice to get back out with the group again and I really enjoyed meeting a few new folks and putting faces to names. It was a perfect day off away from work; even if I couldn't completely get away from military aircraft! Sorry that Rex ran into trouble towards the end of the run. Let us know how you made out. Again, thanks for a GREAT day!

PS--can someone please post pics of todays fun when you get a chance? Cheers!

JT

his CJ's frame just kind of broke apart. spring mount.
rusted right through.

He thought it was a shackle at first, but Brad got out the Hi-Lift and there we saw the breakage.

The trail out of Nelson on the way to Techatticup was nothing short of awesome. More blue-sky hills please!

I'm gonna try to get some photos done today and have them up tonight on my Webshots website. click the www by my name and it links you.

we ended up getting rex to the blacktop by going 1 mph the whole way down from the powerline road. we wrapped a rachet strap around the spring and frame and drove all the way back to henderson at 45 mph. must have ticked a few people off when they came flying north on 95 and encountered 4 very slow moving jeeps in the right hand lane. the cj was dog walking a bit but made it. now rex needs to find a frame shop to repair the break and check the other 3 spring mounts. as i was hooking up my front sway bar i noticed i'd blowen the front axle tube seal and was pumping gear oil so it's a good thing we were at the end of the day. 8)

Don't blame me, I wasn't there. The Rubi curse was NOT in effect. :P
