Me and Dick Bales are planning on finishing the run they started a couple weeks ago by hitting Spirit Mountain by way of Christmas Tree Pass south of Searchlight. This is the same area we were discussing in this thread: http://www.nevadabackroaders.com/v-web/bulletin/bb/viewtopic.php?t=406

Plan on meeting at Rail Road Pass at 9AM, roll by 9:30. This is a tentative run as the weather guessers,....er forecaster's are predicting snow and rain this weekend. Myself I don't mind a little snow or rain, but it'll be a group vote if it comes to it. Dick feels it's a 1-1 1/2 max with a little bit of brush exposure. Depending on the weather and time, we could also hit Camp Thurman, White Rock Mine and Roman Mine to name a few that are also in the area. This should be a good day for a short run or a few others mixed in, so plan on bringing a lunch and such for a day of fun.

If you're interested, post it here so we have an idea who is planning on going should weather become an issue.

Gary,, sounds like fun to me... CJ is not sure... His "hangin' out" buds don't seem to be into 'Jeepin' (general term, no offense to the IH)... I told him to get at least one of them to come along, then once he see's that we have fun and go places that they've never seen, and he experiences what we do, the word might get out that this stuff is 'really cool'... Oh well,,, we'll see on that issue... For now I plan to be there... I'll bring somebody !!! Phil

Well don't let too many people think this boring, dirty, dusty, tumble weed stuff is fun or we'll have to install traffic lights in the boonies

And I'll have to sell my Scout and get a Prius or something "practical"

LOL Gary... Somehow I just can't picture you in something "practical" !!! I just want to try to let some of these 'mall crawlers' know what they are really missing... I bet that none of his friends have ever been in the desert, other than to ride thru it on the paved road... I'd like to show them the "Other Side of Nevada" and what's really out there to be enjoyed... These kids really need to get away from the arcades, theaters, and hangouts... Maybe I can make a difference for at least one... I'm trying.. Phil

Long Johns - Heater - Wipers - Duct Tape for sealing - c/ya at 0900 R.R. pass Gary. It seems this Weather has moved in quicker than they forecast so it may move out sooner also......................

Having been to numerous Nascar Cup events, worked on race cars, built race cars, driven race cars, been to more localized races than I can easily count....... I can say this 4X thing is more relaxing and less political, at least in our little group anyway. Cheaper too, believe it or not.

And Al, have fun.......sitting.........in the rain :P
