hey, I just got the Uniden 520xl also, about 2 days ago from Amazon, for 53.99, a buck cheaper than the Petro had the 510.
I also got a 3' Firestik antenna, 18' coax and a mount.

but hell if I know how to put it all together!

:-)

I might have to pass on this run.

JJ - I'm sure you can find someone to help you install your CB and antenna. I'd bring it all on the run on Sat. if you're going.

cchaser - you should tune your antenna with a SWR meter. I believe a few in the group have them.

Your antenna will need to be tuned , even though it seems like it will work now. You will be ok to listen to it untill you tune it , but you could damage the circuitry if you transmit . You should have no problem getting it tuned before the run , in Searchlight. Seeyou tomorrow.

Cool, I'll see you there. On the way past Horizon Ridge and 95 there is a Chevron Station with a Jack-in-the-box. I have to stop and pick up another Jeeper that will be going, too. It should be just a quick off and then back on. Then it will be non stop to Searchlight. All aboard!!!

See you at Smith's, Valle Verde and 215. :D

Geno has a SWR meter to tune a cb antenna.
Give him a call to make sure he will have it out there with him.
