Thanks Geno & Coral for a fun day... Lots of vehicles (25) and lots of good people... CJ's friend Jesse had a blast and wants to go again... How did part 2 of the run turn out ?? I wish that we could have done it, but the 'kids' had to get back... Thanks for the air-up... Let's do some more soon !!!! Phil  :D

Was a fun little run. I guess good thing the hunting skills came back long enough for me to spot the ram 8)

Phil, the second half was interesting. All the non-AMC vehicles broke a shock mount

Thanks Geno and Coral, that was a really nice trail to the lake. I had a great time as always. It was great wheelin' with you all, too. I met a few more new faces, too. I'm sure I'll see you guys again. :D

I went through Bitter Springs on my trek home and picked up 3 geocaches before it got too dark. I got home around 7:30 pm. How was the trail you went on after the run?

The original trail we were going after (on Geno's map) had since been closed, so we hit Anniversary Mine Rd. Rex said the road up to the mine was wasted after what they found out last weekend, so we tried a run out the wash (Callville?) from there until we got to a rough spot and it was decided if we did push on, we'd be on a "Unapproved Motor Vehicle" trail. So we opted to turn around and go back out the way we came in. Which is when my Dad found my right front shock was hanging. Turns out the mount ripped from the frame, but only because it looks like they did a cruddy job of welding it in the first place. You could see where it had been working loose for awhile (26 years).

No biggie, I'll just have to weld it back on right and probably give the left one a going over too while I'm at it. Or I could opt for the extended shock towers and get longer shocks for more travel and....... :P

Thx, Gary... NOW I understand... I was a bit miffed from your last post. I think that this is probably a blessing in disguise,, as I've seen how you 'fix' (armor tank engineer) everything that breaks... I bet it will work out for the best... Sounds like that was a fun part of the trip... Phil

The joke was I was the only non Jeep there, hence the being the only non AMC vehicle

I would have much rathered it break then and there than say on the freeway this morning at 70 MPH on our glass smooth I-15
