Depending on the time of day we get through with Boathouse Cove, I may hit Bitter Springs to I-15 and do a little geocaching on the way. There's only 5 geocaches hidden on the Bitter Springs trail. Five is better than none. There's about 10 more throughout the Valley of Fire.

Hey Craig, you still coming to the run, and if so, do you want to do a little geocaching on Bitter Springs? or Valley of Fire? You probably got all those ones since they are close to home, huh? :D If not, what do you think? I hope you are still coming.

C'ya there!!

Yes I am planning on it-but my youngest son has a basketball game at 9:30 so I will be a little late and catch up with everyone on the trail. Depending on time I can do some caching. I haven't done many in that area, so I will load them up on the GPS.

Cool, Craig 8) C'ya out on the trail. :)

By the sounds of it, we may have more than a few people going. Maybe we'll have as many people/rigs as a club run.

I show Cleopatra Mine at N36' 14.200 W114' 28.682
It is listed on my GPS software (Expert GPS) in case anybody wants to load it into their GPS. I have not been there so can't confirm it is 100% correct. :D

Hey Joe - I'd like to check out the Geocaching, too. I have a Etrex Venture, but haven't really done anything with it. I'll bring it and that way I can learn.
See you Saturday.

same corrdinates my magellan shows. we may not be able to drive up to it because there are several side trails that the park service has shut down. but my software shows it's only about .03 miles off the main trail so it shouldn't be hard to hike to. 8)

From the map it looks a little bit more than .03 miles, but don't know. Here is an arial view http://www.sednarb.com/Mine.pdf
The trail is off to the right in the picture and the mine is listed on the left.

I have the mine location set, and would love to do a little Geo Caching along the way or after.

I'm in the same boat with Bob about the mine being nothing much more than a claim site, but I'm not going to be sad if it's more. I'm up for the walk.

Bitter Springs afterwards sounds interesting.
