Does anybody have an interest in running Boathouse Cove down to Lake Meade before the weather gets hot :?: Bob, Gene, Justin and I made a quick run down there Sunday. It was the first time for all of us and we all thought it was a great trail. It's stock friendly but has a couple of alternate routes that are pretty fun. :D I think the club runs are pretty well covered through April but we can throw this in either on a Sat or Sun. as a fun run. It's a beautiful area to see. Give me some feedback so I can see if there's any interest, and for a date that would work well for most. Thanks,

Steve

Steve I would join ya. It's not far from my house. Sunday works best for me- other than Feb. 5 or the 12th
Went down that with my ZJ when it was stock. I wish it went to a real nice beach for a good summer trip :(

For those of us who aren't familiar with every trail in the state, could you maybe provide some more details? Where does it start? End? Anything particularly significant about the trail? How long? etc..

Hi Andy,
If you can pull up a PDF file on your PC, try this link:

Lake Mead NRA Approved Backcountry Roads

(Other Lake Mead maps can be found here too: http://www.nps.gov/lame/maps.html )

If you look 3/4 the way down on the left edge of the map, you will find Northshore Road. Follow that over to milepost 30. The dashed road going south is Boathouse Cove Road (#97).

I haven't been on the road myself, so I can't provide any other information.

-Bryan

Hi Beth,

That 1st weekend in feb sounds good but I need to check with Brad on the club run for that month. If there's nothing going on then, we'll do it then so you can come along with the new lift. (If the NUFWA meeting ends early enough, I'll stop by this Sat. at Ed's)

Andy, It's a typical So. Nev. trail, starting on Northshore road 5 miles so. of Echo Bay. It runs along going through some nice mountain ranges to the Lake. Should spot some horses and burros along the way. The Cleopatra Mine is up there but Bob and I couldn't find the road to it. Found it on the GPS but the road is long gone.

It's worth seeing, an easy trail but with some optional fun spots.

Debra... my GPS calls it Debbie's cove instead of Boathouse. :)

Al... either rig will be fine on this trail ....... Hemi 8)

N2Deep.... can you work with 4th or 5th?

i'm going to guess that the february club run won't be until later in the month. i have to wait for phil to get some things done before we can pre-run the trip and that will probably be a mid-week thing. 8)
